Welcome to SkillCult

I'm here to put down my long experience in practical arts and self reliance skills.  My main goal is to encourage greater physical and mental independence in an age of increasing dependency and helplessness.  That is very un-cult-like I know.  I hope you aren't disappointed!

I proceed on the basic idea that a person who can better meet their needs, and the needs of their group or family, under varied circumstances is a more dignified, resilient, independent, grounded, free thinking and ultimately just all around freer entity, who is more secure in the environments they walk through every day.  This is independent of whether all of the skills they carry with them through this life are needed or not.  But there is so much more to that than I can explain in this short paragraph!  Join me as I continue to explore and rediscover old ways of doing things and pursue new paths into making and understanding all kinds of cool stuff!
